⚠️ Health Advisory: Blue-Green Algae in Gile Flowage

The Iron County Health Department has issued a health advisory for Gile Flowage due to blue-green algae blooms, especially near Gile Park and the boat landing.

- Avoid swimming, wading, or letting pets in water that looks like pea soup, has green streaks, or surface scum.

- Algae can cause illness in people and animals.

-Stay safe and always check the water before entering.

Algae blooms typically happen as the lake waters warm and can dissipate or move as quickly as they appear.

If you see a bloom in any Iron County lake it can be reported to the Iron County Health Department 715-561-2191 or online at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/algae/index.htm
